Generation in Katalist is powered by a flexible credit-based system. For new users, understanding this system ensures you get the most out of the platform without unexpected surprises. This guide also answers some frequently asked questions on image and video generation.

Regardless of the plan selected, the free trial includes a one-time allocation of 50 image credits, which expire once the trial ends. Video generation, downloads, and exports aren’t included at this stage. After reaching the 50-image limit, you’ll need to upgrade to continue generating. This limitation is temporary, as we’re working on expanding the trial experience.

Credit charges vary depending on the model you choose and the number of frames generated. The table below outlines the credit costs for each tool. Please note that these charges also apply to regenerated videos and images and that each video clip typically lasts between 5–10 seconds.

To purchase additional credits, users on the Essential, Pro, and Unlimited plans can contact support through the in-app chat. Once enabled, credits can be purchased by navigating to the cogwheel settings in your account. However, this is a manual process, and after completing the purchase, you’ll need to reach out to support so the credits can be added to your account. The minimum purchase amount is 700 credits. Credit purchases are not available for Free plan users.

Monthly plan credits expire on your billing date. However, any additional credits you purchase will not expire, as long as your account remains active.

To make the most of your video credits, we recommend choosing the video model that best fits your content needs and budget. Since images are converted to video, it’s best to finalize edits on your images before animating them to avoid regenerating in case there’s an error. If you plan to generate multiple videos, consider purchasing larger credit packages and regularly keep an eye on your credit balance to prevent unexpected depletion.

Your billing date is the day of the month when you first started your plan. For monthly subscribers, this is also the day your subscription renews and the monthly charge is applied. For annual subscribers, the billing date falls on the same day each month (e.g., the 20th), based on when the plan was first activated.
